One month in....

So we have been here just about month, I only know this because tomorrow our tourist visa expires and our work visas have not gone through. So what does that mean. Oh it means I get to spend six hours in a car driving to Oman just to cross the border get an exit stamp, turn around come back into this country for a new entry visa. Who wouldn't want to spend there day off driving through a hot flat desert for 6 hours. Sigh.

So yeah, a month in and what do we think. I guess that all depends on the day you ask but today might not be a good day for me to put it in words. One thing is for sure the month flew by, I feel like we just got off the plane and I have yet to "land."

Basically it is a roller coaster ride moving to a new country and starting a new job at the very same moment. All we have experience thus far is work, which is completely different from our experience in Colombia. Things here are vastly different. The school is intense - which means the expectations are high.  It kind of feels like many of the people here (not just at the school) are highly driven, type a, go-getter personalities. People come here to make money and work hard. In Colombia it seemed like foreigners were there for a variety of reasons...escapism, culture, weather, hot girls, salsa, drugs, travels....etc.



News:

• We get a car this weekend
• We have been blocked from making phone calls from our computer and now we have to get a VPN, whatever the hell that is
• We will be traveling to Turkey with our friend Raph for Christmas Holiday which is a mare 2 weeks ;c
• We are looking for holiday ideas for a week in November
• We are looking into kite surfing

In case this post makes me sound down and spoiled. Here are some good things about this place:

• It is crazy safe
• The weather is cooling down and it will soon be quite comfortable for outdoor sports
• The town is bike friendly
• Food is delicious and cheap enough
• We are very close to the beach
• The city is really clean
• No one hassles you anywhere or anyhow
• We like our apartment
• And we each have a personal assistant in our classroom. Mine is some what eccentric and deserves a whole post dedicated to her
• The school is organized and a well oiled machine (the kids aren't as cute and loving as Colombia though)
